Taking out the emotion of any Chuckstrong moments (locker room speeches, cheerleader gestures, hero's return to the sideline etc), what was your favourite football moments (drive, play, anything...) of our remarkable season?

 

My top 5......

 

1. Last 5 minutes of the Lions Game. When Avery scored that final TD as time expired, I actually had one of those great sporting tearful moments which I'll never forget. That was the time I just knew that we had a very special QB. It was like Peyton had never left.

 

2. Reggies' TD v the Packers. Whilst the whole 2nd half was memorable, this was the icing on the cake.

 

3. 3rd and 23 at Indy 30 - Luck to Hilton...TOUCHDOWN....perfect throw, great run and catch...."Houston, you have a problem...."

 

4. Opening drive at Foxboro. For a short time, I though 'maybe'....  

 

5. Vic's twisting TD dive in OT v the Titans. Beautiful.

 

Sorry if these are all offensive plays, I'm sure we'll get plenty on the other side of the ball......

Freeman's INT Touchdown vs the Bears was a great way for him to introduce himself and start the season.

Ballard's helicopter spin TD has got to be #1.

I was at the game in Detroit, and the final play was even more thrilling live with other Colts fans. My personal fave.

Good topic Braveheart, even though we all know favourite is spelled favorite when we are not vacationing in Jolly Old England     (The JoKeR clap was intended )

 

You came up with my favorites, and I have to say number 1 was mine.  I recently married an old high school friend, and her son and I were watching an entire Colts game for the first time.  We were standing and rooting in front of the TV as the play unfolded and Kevin Lee made the call on radio (Bob Lamey had laryngitis)

 

When Avery scored, this old linebacker was jumping up and down like a school kid...high five-ing and bumping Nick (son)  Not only was it a game winning play on the last play of the game, but also something I will always remember in life...a really neat moment.  Here is the TV telecast!  Go               !!!!!!!

I gotta go with Reggie's TD against the Packers....that IMO lit the fuse for our terrific season.

 

But I must admit....I may very well have preferred the Andrew Luck to Donnie Avery game-winning TD versus Detroit had they shoved the TV cameras in Ndamukong Suh's face instead of Matt Stafford's as time expired.

Chuck's return to the sidelines against the Texans and the team giving him a win. Nothing beats seeing the guy on the sidelines, the letter he wrote to the city, the support the city gave to him, and the players love for the guy.

It was Chucks first game back, we had nothing to play for, the Texans needed the game. IMO it told them we're taking this division back. Get used to it now.

And I think the Texans know it.

I agree 100%.  It started to seem like the last time the Colts had a kickoff return for a TD was during the Carter Administration.

I think it was Third & 13 in the fourth quarter against the Packers- when Luck had Clay Matthews on his back, shrugged him off and lazered a pass to Reggie. We knew Luck was a stud before then, but that play confirmed it.

We were not supposed to win that game, you could see the leadership of #12, & it was just a great comeback win...
Highlights of that game for me were Luck slapping the Chuckstrong banner after his touchdown, the shot of Mathis holdinhg up Chuckstrong whiteboard along the sidelines, & the final drive of the game...
It all seemed so epic...

I also loved the interview with Reggie during the season where Reggie said the team felt like playing well & winning was "medicine" for Chuck...

Ballard in Tennessee, first road win and from that moment on I was thinking playoffs.

All were great moments. A funny moment when the Brown's defense, knowing that the Colts were going to try and draw them offsides on 4th and short, fell for it anyway.

Might not be a football moment, but it happened during a game.

I think it happened during the Packers game, it was Mathis holding up the white board with ChuckStrong written on it, pumping up the crowd.

Summed up our season pretty well. Emotion and a great comeback.

Vontae Davis' INT vs the Chiefs simply because I predicted it to happen (#2)

1. My favorite play of the whole season would be the jump ball TD that TY Hilton had vs the Dolphins

I know the play calling here was really simple but my favorite moment was when we had to go for 2 points against the Packers, it was a huge moment and all of our momentum had been building up to this moment, knowing previously we would have to go for 2. I was almost certain Luck would be throwing the ball but he handed it off to Donald and he ran it in and did the "Discount Double check" and than the dance from the B.J Raji Commercials (video is on youtube).

I live in Minnesota so the bar was full of packers fans who had been cheering the whole first half and giving me all sorts of looks. When Donald ran it in I screamed with joy and returned all those looks to all those Packers fans. It felt like the Colts could hang with anyone after that game, and I knew this season would be a rollercoaster.

Gosh, so many! I love blow-outs, but the close games are what I remember.

 

Detriot comeback....I mean, I kept saying we had a chance, but I really deep down thought it was nearly impossible. When Reg almost got that winning TD I stood up and then had to pace. When they did in fact get it in I jumped up and down and did a woohoo.

 

Packers game is up there, as well as Texans.

My favorite was the 70 yard TD to Hilton on 3rd and forever...beautiful pass, right in his hands in stride..and a walk to the end zone...Close second..The Ballard twisting, inverted 3 and a half somersault with a half twist..degree of difficulty 9 out of 10, to score the winning 6 points..

Yes and was made possible by some gritty running by Vic Ballard,just a few of the right moves in the offseason,to help the secondary OL,and some people getting healthy for the DL ,IMO we have something very special,possibly better overall than our SB teams.Anyway the future looks Bright in COLTS LAND

My Freind with some help on the OL this offense will be a 2 headed monster

I will break it down by players because I can't put my finger on one particular moment this year, and each player had there own good games.

 

Andrew Luck- vs Detroit Lions. I really liked the Brazil TD. Somebody was down around his ankles when he threw the ball and it brought us back into the game, which eventually was won by Avery.

 

Ballard- Of course the corkscrew TD. I have never seen a play like that. Reminded me of Reggie Bush's USC days when he would leap into the endzone from the 5 yard line.

 

Wayne- The Packers game was unreal. Probably Wayne's best game of his career.

 

O-line- As much as most people here will bash the offensive line. In the last 2 minutes of games, they would keep drives alive and make it possible for us to win the game.

 

Redding- The 2 sack game against the Packers was huge. He won the battle and made it possible to win the game. Also was the emotional leader for the defense.

 

Freeman- The first INT in his first game. Also was our first score of the regular season. A good way to start a career.

 

Davis- 2 INTs in the last game against the Texans. Also a big reason why we were able to win. He was also the difference maker on the defense.

 

Butler- the 2 INT game against the Jaguars was another good start with the team. He helped solidify the secondary for our playoff run. And I am using solidify very loosely.

Favorite single moment has to be the Avery game winner against the Lions. Last second play, the culmination of a(nother) great comeback, this time on the road, and with no time on the clock we scored the touchdown. It was awesome.

 

Any of the big plays from the Packers game might qualify, but that was a series of great moments. The favorite might -- MIGHT -- be when Crosby's kick boomeranged away from the goal post at the end.

 

Also on the list is Ballard's game winner against the Titans. Butler's pick-six against the Jags also.

Mine was Reggie's one-handed catch against Charles Woodson who also got a PI call.  That was insane.  It made me wanna go outside and play some football lol.

It's not at the top of my list but the 9:45 drive to end the Texans game was pretty good.  Even though it resulted in zero points it was our best drive of the season. 

 

My personal favorite moment was Luck to Avery to beat the Lions with Luck to Wayne to beat the Packers a close second. Jackson's return and Vick the brick Ballard flying threw the air to beat the TItans would tie for number three for me.

We were just talking about this.  I agree with your number 1.  I would bump 5 up to 2 because it looked IMPOSSIBLE
