Rays Victory Lap

I don't mean this to sound like sour grapes, and it's not directed at Lewis as much as it is at the hypocrisy of the NFL, the media, and our justice system.

Yes, Ray had a great career. I personally don't feel he had much of an impact on the field yesterday, but he did inspire his teammates.

That being said, he was celebrated like a hero in all the pre game shows and post game. Yet there are still two men who were murdered and apparently no one did it according to the courts. Rays bloody suit was never found. And the media seems to have forgotten about it. After Denver beats them next Saturday he'll have a high paying job with ESPN.

Am I the only one, or does that just seem wrong?

Its amazeing how people praise him he is the biggest PHONEY around yes there are a lot of hypocrites around, there just as PHONEY as him. MANNING will take care of him next week lets see if he's doing that MORONIC dance then

Wha did I tell that was innacurate? The fact that it was 40 not 45? Everything I said was correct. He hadn't been drinking for hours and hit a guy who was jay walking across the street after he tried to warn him. This isn't as black and white as people are making it seem.

10 mph is double 5 mph ... also there are several key differences between a plea of no-contest and guilty.    Not to mention that he was way over the legal limit and shouldn't have been behind the wheel even if he did feel fine!   IMO it was pretty black and white - he should still be in jail today!   Lucky for him he had $$$$$!

Guy gets shot. Guy lives. Says Marvin did it. Marvin had been seen stomping this guy out in a parking lot. That same guy turns up dead 3 months later. The shooting happened near a car wash Harrison owned and the bullets were fired from his own gun. Yeah no evidence whatsoever...

Wow your facts are extremely mixed up. That man lived after he and Marvin had a shoot out, no one died or was seriously hurt. That same man died a few months later, shot, point blank, multiple times as he sat in his car.

That's correct.  Marvin was never charged, and there's no proof he was involved in the murder.

There's a lot of speculation on some of these cases, we should stick to the facts.  I'm sure everything I wrote about Ray was a fact.  Some people may not like them, but I didn't appreciate them calling my post 'disgusting'.  They may not want the story brought up again, but there's no denying it happened.

Once again, my point was that the media always ignores it when they celebrate him.  The NFL fined him, but I don't think he lost any play time (to be honest, I can't remember), and there are two dead men without anyone responsible for their murders.

It's really bad timing but In your defense you've tried to bring it up before, discuss it but no one wanted too talk about it. Do you think he did it? I have doubts. I don't see a intelligent kid killing anyone with his whole career in front of him.

I never brought this up before. How could I when I was talking about his victory lap?

I won't speculate, I only stated facts. I was more upset with how the media celebrates him but doesn't talk about his involvement in a double murder.

First of all, I didn't say Ray did it. He plea bargained to obstruction, which is not the same as being acquitted of all charges. He got 12 months probation, which was the max they could give him. So don't try to make it sound like he had nothing to do with it.

You may not like the history but you can't change it. How good he is/was on the field can't change it either.

Actually, ray wasn't aquitted of any charges. He was only charged with obstruction, and he plead guilty and got a slap on the wrist. I don't think he killed anyone, but he didn't help the police and prosecution put the killers behind bars either.
Since when does plea bargaining = acquitted of all charges?

It doesn't. At all.

He plea bargained because he had successfully buried/hidden that bloodied white suit of his.

If he were innocent, no need to plea bargain. He could have fought to keep his name completely clean. As we know from hundreds of examples, plea bargaining is usually an admission of some kind of wrong-doing.

Okay - okay.  He wasn't acquitted of charges, but he wasn't actually charged with murder.  It is pretty obvious that someone in his entourage had something to do with the murder.  But does that make this man guilty?  Are we going to prosecute someone for being guilty by association now?

The reason he was able to plea was because there was absolutely no evidence that he himself had anything to do with the murder.  All of the witnesses at the nightclub corroborate this fact.

Totally disagree!!!!   I too am SICK of this guy being worshiped!    I totally agree that his on the field play is some of the best around - he is without any doubt one of the best ball players ever. However IMO he should not even be on the field - he should have been sent to jail for life!

Does Ray Lewis' arrest for murder taint the game?

IMO he is as guilty as OJ, and due to money and stardom got off ... then had no choice but to change / turn his life around!   Does not change what happened back then!

Also hated to see Donte Stallworth back in the NFL - no way no how should he have been back!

You're welcome to that opinion.  The rest of the country, however, will continue to celebrate the feats that Ray has performed during his time in the NFL.

Then you must agree that there was nothing in my post that was untrue or inflammatory. If you feel the truth or our opinions are disgusting, that's your problem. You can celebrate Ray all you want, I would like the media to remember there were two men murdered, Rays suit was "lost", and he was the only one prosecuted for ANYTHING.

To me, that was disgusting. My opinion.

Marvin Harrison killed a guy too. Didn't hear many people get mad when he was inducted into the Ring of Honor.

If you think Lewis killed a guy (mod edit) Look up the facts before you say something like that again. . Statements like this are nothing but an insult to the victims and Lewis.

If you think Lewis killed a guy you're being stupid. Plain and simple. Look up the facts before you say something like that again. Stupidity like this isn't even needed. Statements like this are nothing but an insult to the victims and Lewis.

I didn't say Lewis didn't kill a guy. I fully believe he killed a guy. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of some of the fan base for flaming Ravens fans for cheering for him but at the same time shrugging of what Harrison was accused of doing.

But good job jumping to conclusions and calling me stupid though. Nice to know people can keep it classy around here.

Actually neither ray or Marvin have been legally accused of murder

I can make accusations all i want. Doesn't really mean anything. He was never charged, and with reason.

We can sit here and argue technicalities all day if you like, but regardless both were accused and neither were charged. If being charged was such a big deal to you then why continue to accuse Lewis? He wasn't charged.

Seriously ... LOL!

Facts?  What Facts?   Ohhhh here are just a few of the FACTS!

He admitted being present.  He couldn't deny it!

The white suit he was wearing at the time of the murders vanished.  How convenient!

The murder weapon was purchased at a store where Lewis often signed autographs.  Don't look here just another coincidence.

Lewis sit with his friends during the trial ... way to be a team player!

But wait, he agreed to a plea bargin that would get him off the hook if he testified against his friends and became the states star witness.  WOW, nice loyal friend there!

Lewis admitted he lied to police about the story he had been telling!  Ahhhh nice that you are free to speak the partial truth now as a star witness!

His co-defendents claim he was involved. Because he was!

Lewis paid a very nice sum of money to the families of the victims.  Yep, he just a nice guy tossing millions around for no reason!

His co-defendents were eventually aquitted and no one faced justice for the two deaths.  Guess that large sum of money was pretty far reaching!

Marvin killed a guy, Lewis killed a guy. They're both scumbags who should be in jail and a lot of people would rather not face the fact that one of their sports heroes is a cold blooded murderer. The same way people bash Ravens fans for standing up for Lewis is the exact same thing Colts fans do for Marvin Harrison. This entire thread is hypocritical.

Wait I just realized you said he didn't kill someone. In that case disregard the post above. Except for the last 2 sentences of course.

Your opinion is not fact. I deal in facts

Duane Fassett, the driver of Lewis' rented limousine, reluctantly admitted on the stand that after the brawl Lewis told everyone in the stretch Lincoln Navigator to "just keep your mouth shut and don't say nothing."

Evelyn Sparks, who was riding in the limousine, said she saw another passenger dump a white hotel laundry bag into a garbage bin outside a fast food restaurant. Prosecutors say the bag contained Lewis' bloodstained white suit, which has never been found.

Sparks also said a photograph of Lewis' entourage, taken at the Cobalt Lounge on the night of the killings, was destroyed by Jessica Robertson, a woman described as Lewis' girlfriend. "She said she burned it," Sparks testified.

Oh well - not worth arguing - the guy is a god in many Ravens fans and the crooked media helps spread that false vision!

If you deal in facts the Ray Lewis didn't kill a guy by your logic. He was charged with obstruction of justice not murder therefore he is not a murderer right? I mean, those are the facts...

I never once called him a murderer. Others have, not me. I said he stalled the prosecution of the guys that did the killing

There was enough evidence to prove to me and most of the sports world he was a killer. But whatever, I guess you can draw your own opinion.

One mans account, a guy who refused to cooperate with authorities? Why? He could have sued Harrison for millions. He chose to come forward later.

Why?

The guy who was killed was a drug dealer. I'm sure he dealt with a lot of criminals. Any if which could have killed him

No name calling .. just an opinion. As far as next year. I'll settle for the same amount of luck we had this year. Unlike your soon to be disposed of team , our window is wide open , while yours is pretty much shut.
