Colts win over Baltimore sends them to Denver unless Cincy tops Houston...

Indy-NE would be Sun. Jan. 13..Indy-Denver would be Jan. 12.

Its too soon for IOndy-Denver...dont want it

....also if Indy and Cincy win TWO playoff games....Cincy comes to Indianapolis for the AFC title game..

a Cincinnati victory is best for all concerned

I would rather go to Denver since I think they are much more due for a loss coming off this big streak then NE who just lost to SF not as long ago.

Peyton's history in his first playoff games is worse then the Patriots. I know how everyone feels emotion wise, but I just like our odds better in Denver where we have historically had more success too then in New England.

I am aware of the shortened week though IF we beat Baltimore and play the following Saturday but at the same time much of this team is young so I really don't care as much about that.

Besides, how picky can we get? It's still a house money year. ;) We play who we play and just deal with it.

No way Jules....

We dont match up with Denver at all and we havent played in the mile-high air...

We cant block their pass rushers...///We have played NE and, while we would be a big underdig, we have a better shot

No such thing as 'house money' we may be 8-8 next year..we dont know...

Detroit though they were going to 'do nothing but get better' too

I don't see why everyone is afraid of New England. You can beat any team if you believe it. Regardless of what happens, we're gonna play a Top QB it's no avoiding it. And Brady isn't Winning another SB so it doesn't matter what they do.

But that's just my opinion on it

Mark you and I do not often see eye to eye on scenarios so we will just leave it at that. I would prefer Denver while you prefer NE. Both of us have an argument to support our reasoning so do not say "no way." It is a matter of opinion. Both teams are formidable at home.

And "can't" is not part of my vocabulary with this Colts team either. Perhaps they don't even make it to the divisional round or lose soon but who knows.

I have heard all year we CAN'T make the playoffs. We CAN'T protect Luck. We CAN'T beat this team or that team or do this or that etc. etc.

All year I have read and heard we will get slaughtered or Luck will be carried off on a stretcher in any game. If you and everyone else thinks Denver is this unbeatable force then why not play them for fun? Let's see what we got. To be the best lets play the best and see what happens.

We will agree to disagree.

Now you are someone talking common sense! Totally agree.

I think many here are so focused on Peyton being "one and done" that they fail to remember that there is also an emotional side to all of this. What person is going to be beat easily after being disrepected, regardless of history? Peyton will be fired up for this game and I am sure his team will want this win for him. I would NOT be wishing for Von and Elvis, who combined, lead the league in sacks to have any sort of meeting with Luck or his O-line this year, nor would I want to take on Denver's corners or wide receivers. The Colts have their emotional battle as well and I don't discount them at all, however they were on the other end of the stick here, Peyton was cut, he did not quit. I can not believe anyone would wish for such a disaster. While history can give you a good "guess" NO ONE KNOWS how Peyton will do with a top 5 defense and all around better offense, add emotion to that and I would be very, very careful for what I wish for. Denver and Peyton are NOT going down as easily as some suggest!

I disagree it would be better to play denver first, If we play the patriots are season is OVER! We match up better with denver than n.e., if we play the patriots next we have no chance of getting to the AFC championship game, playing denver I think we atleast have a chance  to get there, and who knows the patriots might get knocked out before the AFC title game! So I'm rooting for Houston to beat cincy!

I would rather the Colts go to Denver if we are so fortunate to play in the divisional round, that way either Peyton who I still love, or the Colts who I have always loved are guarenteed a shot at a trip to my favorite city, New Orleans. GO Colts, or Go Peyton, just don't let it be the Pats, please!

I don't think anyone is suggesting the Broncos "will go down easily."

Not at all.

Going to Denver OR New England will be a brutal challenge. I just would rather take my shot vs. Denver then NE first if we beat Baltimore. I would personally want to avoid NE as long as possible if the Colts/Pats are still in the mix. I did not want to play NE this weekend either and I hated when the scenario was possible. I have always wanted to avoid NE as long as possible in any playoffs we were in in any season.

I am like you. I would much rather go to Denver, than New England. I am rooting for the Colts this weekend like always, but I will also be rooting for the Texans(gasp). I think the better matchup is against Denver. The Patriots have so many more weapons than the Broncos do. And that is especially true with Gronkowski and Hernandez both healthy. On the other hand with Denver I think we have some favorable match ups on those wideouts, and I don't fear Moreno and Hillman. Obviously Peyton is the biggest Monster out there, and that certainly is a big monster to deal with, but I think we may be able to do some things against that defense. I don't care what anyone says. It's funny! We survived the J.J. Watt boogie man, the Jared Allen boogie man, the Clay Matthews boogie man and now for some reason it's being said that we couldn't possibly deal with Von Miller and Dumerville.

When are people going to stop with this stuff, and put some faith in our coaching staff? Denvers defense is good, I like Del Rio as a coordinator, but other than Champ Bailey and those two ends who exactly would we have trouble with? I think we can certainly move the ball on those dudes and score. I thnk we could do enough to keep Peyton off the field. I won't say it's impossible for us to win that game. On the contrary, I think it is possible.

What would be even crazier is if the Texans somehow went to New England and pulled the upset, and we found a way to beat the Broncos. That would just be insane to think that this team would actually be playing for a chance to go to the Super Bowl in the AFCCG. It would be totally unreal!

I think Denver has a MUCH better defense all around than NE. Offensively NE is slightly better than Denver but not by much. Colts have a familiarity with NE having already played them, that they do not have with Denver, specifically defense, giving some credit for Colts D maybe having some familiarity with a Peyton ran offense. I think any team beating another team twice in the same year is tough and works against NE and NE doesn't have the "emotional" factor that Peyton brings. Just my opinion after watching all of the teams mentioned play this year. Von and Elvis are NASTY (in a good not dirty player way)  and I can not see anyone thinking that Denver D is a better route than NE, which has a good but not as good as Denver D.

Have you ever watched Denver play? Not being a smarty pants at all, serious question. I am a lady but love me some defense and have actually studied up. :)  Wolfe and Ayers are also DE's and if Von and Elvis can't get in, they do. The 4 CB duo of Bailey, Porter, Harris and Carter is outrageous. The LB core is probably the weakest but still pretty darn good with Woodyard. Williams, Brooking etc. I am certainly NOT saying this is a cakewalk at all for Denver but if there is any defense I would rather not play it is theirs. They have done a great job of getting Peyton the ball back. Every single team that plays Denver knows how to beat them, that is by keeping the offense off the field but only 3 teams have been able to do that. NE got beat by SF with a rookie (somewhat rookie) QB, I personally think that is an easier road and NE doesn't look as strong (they are strong but as strong) as of late.

If the Colts do indeed beat the Ravens, I would much rather see them play in Denver. If this fairytale is going to end, let #18 do it... otherwise a ring is the only preferable ending... haha

I think we have a chance of beating the Ravens, but I don't see us getting past the second round. That being the case, I don't see any good reason for us to try to avoid Denver. It would be awesome getting to play against Manning in the playoffs. And as soon as the Colts are eliminated, I'm hopping on the Broncos bandwagon anyways.

The only way this would be better would be if we beat the Ravens, then the Pats, and then went to Denver in the AFCCG. But I don't see us beating the Pats, not after they pounded us earlier this season. Just not a good matchup.

There is a not a good team to play between the Pats and Broncos.  Both will be extremely hard games for the Colts to win.

With that said playing the Broncos might be good long term for the Colts. First of all they have so much good will built up from this season people aren't going to get too mad at them if they lose. Second of all it gets the media circus that is going to come with playing Peyton Manning for the first time out of the way.  I would rather do that now than have to do it for the first time when they play Peyton in Indy next year.  Don't get me wrong that will be a circus too but at least this way the Colts will have been threw it too.

Also the Broncos have not played the Colts yet this season.  The Pats know us and already know how to attack us and beat us.  Also if I had to pick I would much rather face a John Fox lead team than a BB lead team in the playoffs.

I personally would rather play Denver. Both are going to be tough becuase were going up against the.two best Qbs in the game either way. That is if we take care of buisness in Baltimore. Keep in mind Baltimore is gonna have extra motivation now with Lewis announcing his retirement and they want to put a final run togetber fot him. Plus they get Nagta back which is a big presence for them. They are gonna be very tough and were not gonna be able to make many mistakes. But I think we have a chance as long as we dont take ourselves out of it.

And as for NE Brady is getting his other partner in crime back, Gronk. They are gonna be very difficult to stop deffensivley with him Hernandez, Welker and Loyld plus a good run game this year. On defense thier not a top notch D but they have forced alot of turnovers and can be very stout at times. I think overall thier offense is more dynamic than denvers and alot more to stop and deal with. Defenivley Denver is better but not by a bunch. Id rather play Denver, I just think defensivley its better matchup for us. Both wod be very difficult though.

Interesting. Just for fun........

The last time the Broncos were the first seed with the Patriots the second seed was in 1996.

The Patriots lost to the Packers in the SB in NO and the Broncos suffered a shocking upset to the 5th seeded Jaguars in the divisional.

The 1996 Broncos/Jaguars divisional game was also on a Saturday. That same day the Packers/49ers played......

I love our season so far but lets be honest, we would probably get blown by any team that comes after the Ravens and im really ok with that.

We got so far already that I wouldnt get angry with a loss. I would just hate to lose to Patriots because I really hate that team

I would rather lose to Denver than lose to NE. If we get past the Ravens(which I think is very possible), It doesn't matter who we play, Denver or NE, I think we lose either way. Not being pessimistic, just the way I see it. It's always possible we have a great game against either of those 2 teams and squeak out a victory, but highly unlikely. Like I said though, I would rather lose to Denver than NE.

I think it is a moot point if we can't stop Ray Rice, T. Smith/ A. Boldin, and Luck doesn't look off Ed Reed.  The emotion of the final run for Ray Lewis cannot be overlooked anymore than Chuckstrong has done for us. Intensity and execution is amped up in post season play.  Flacco has been around the block, and never has gone one and done.  We can win this game, but we certainly have our hands full.

I agree.  I'd rather lose to Denver than to NE and I honestly feel we would lose to either one.  Sure, we have a chance, just like we have a chance every game against any team, but realistically the odds of the colts beating either NE or Denver are slim at best.

For our best chance of winning though I would rather play NE.  Our defense isn't going to stop either Brady or Manning.  The best we can hope for is to slow them down just enough for our offense to score more points.  However, if we play Denver, then I don't see us scoring very many points with Derek Wolfe, Elvis Dumerville and Von Miller coming after Luck.

I don't understand how people don't want us to play Denver. First off, while I think we definitely are much better than we showed against the Pats earlier this season, I think the Pats offense is a terrible match up for our defense with the quick routes. Why would we want to play a team again that blew us out with ease before unless we absolutely had to?

Second, though, and more importantly, how can you not want to see Peyton face the Colts? Yes, it would be a media circus, and I know Peyton will be coming to LOS next year, but this would be in the playoffs. I think the game would be absolutely electric in atmosphere. And to be honest, I think it would affect Peyton more than it would affect Luck or the other Colts players, at least from the standpoint of facing each other. Peyton is human, and I think this would mentally be a big game for him after the Colts chose to go the Luck route this past off-season. It would be interesting to see how he played in response. This would also still be an incredibly tough game for the Colts to win, but I do think we would have a better chance here than against the Pats in Foxboro in mid-January.

However, at this point this is all just talk. The team is by no means guaranteed to beat Baltimore.

I'd rather play Houston again than the Bengals if I'm just considering talent, health, and mojo.

As far as Denver and New England are concerned, it's a tie, they are the 2 best teams in the AFC. New England has more passing weapons and Denver IMO has a better D, both QBs can light us up, both have good running games.

I really don't care that Manning was a Colt and if I did, I'd rather he beat us than Tom Brady. But really, who cares?

I agree it's too soon for a Luck against Manning game.

That said, I did pick Bengals to upset the Texans. (sigh)

Why do people keep saying it is too soon for a Luck against Manning game? How is it any different than a Luck against Brady game? If the reasoning is that it would be too big a game for Luck, I honestly doubt it would affect Luck anymore than any other playoff game. Or is this more just a personal preference?

I don't know...maybe personal preference? It just seems like it should wait until next year. I just don't want the media field day that I know it would be.

APPRENTICE VS. THE MASTER, or OLD VS. NEW!!! Or whatever stupid headline they'd come up with.
