With the (1st?) pick of the 2013 NFL Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

I don't think there's a QB worth drafting #1 overall...

Maybe they can find someone at the top of round 2 for investing.

And I'm not sure they're investing in Tebow to come in as a #1.    I think they want him to come in and sell tickets and jersey's.   If he can also become #1 -- great.

I think someone likes Jones at Georgia or Joeckel at Texas A & M might be a good place to start....

OR.....

Try and trade down and collect picks....

Jarvis Jones or Star Lotulelei. Someone to make an impact in the pass rush. There isn't a QB really good enough to go #1, Geno is the best of a bad bunch followed closely by Tyler Wilson.

I thought Chiefs had the #1 pick, though, on strength of schedule? I have them going Geno... they can't not get a QB.

Or WR, no guarantee that Bowe stays and they dont appear to have another #1 by a long shot on the roster, Cassell was not great but not bad in my opinion, just cant stay healthy

It will be Jarvis Jones or Star. They are better off building their D and rolling with Henne or..ugh..Tebow.

I dont know whats goign to happen if the Jags get Tebow and Luck go head to head.

4th quarter comeback super powers will erupt! (slight sarcasm)

I don't see anyone but the Chiefs getting the #1 pick but if there is a draft to NOT pick QB first even if you need one it is this draft.  That said, I still think Geno Smith is worth a look as the #1 pick.  He has accuracy in the high 60's, has the right physical attributes (6'3" - 213lbs) and is a physical scrambler.  If you coach him up right and have a solid defense behind him I can see good things in a team's future.  The Chiefs are also a physical running team and this would help Smith by not having to carry the entire offense on his back.  I would look to draft Smith in the first round and then a solid WR in round 2.

Chiefs will get no. 1 they play Denver next week

That is what I am thinking...   doesn't KC have the #1 pick currently?  And Jax 2nd?

Anywho...    this is a great year to not have the first overall pick.       There is simply no true STUD QB this season.

I would trade it...

According to one mock draft I saw the first pick was Geno Smith by KC

If the Jags have the #1 a defensive playmaker will be the pick

According to most mock drafts I've seen they have KC taking Geno Smith.

Someone here posted a link to a website which tabulates lots and lots of mock drafts, and most of them had KC taking Geno Smith.

And this goes back to what I've been saying over and over again....   most of these websites don't know what they're doing.

They see that the team with the number one pick needs a QB,  and they simply plug in the top Quarterback whether or not he's deserving of being taken first overall or not.

That's why most of these mock drafts aren't worth the paper they're written on.   (and I know they're not written on paper!)

Cassel hasn't played bad since he has been a starterince his last year as a Patriot to now, he has 80 td's and 55 picks and he has never throwm more then 16 picks in a season and he has only done that once, His problem is

1. He cant stay healthy

2.The Chiefs have only have shown to have 1 NFL caliber WR at this point and he is out for the season, Baldwin has not shown up nor Breaston either (at least in the End Zone)

Problem with Cassel is accuracy (57.4% completion pct. with Chiefs and 58.9% for career), and the number of sacks he takes (109 with Chiefs in just more than 3 years, took 51 sacks in 15 games started with NE). He is a streaky QB, IMO. If you have a running game like the Chiefs do, you should be able to complete more passes vs more one-on-one coverage. He is definitely not the long term solution.
