Now we can say we will at least be the 6th best team in the AFC.

Indeed Colts have proved everyone wrong. They don't even have an OL as well.

Look at some of the rankings in those power rankings:

5. Steelers

8. Philly

10. Detroit

13. Denver

16. Arizona

20. Seattle

27. Washington

28. Miami

29. St. Louis

30. Minnesota

I want Santa to bring me a t-shirt with this printed on it..."a collection of renowned football writers -- ranked the Colts dead last at No. 32."

People who said that are clearly people not paying attention to the team.  We went 2-14 last year but had better than 2-14 talent.   There are teams in this league who would kill for Wayne, Mathis, Freeney, Angerer, Bethea, and Castonzo.  We were never like the 0-16 Lions that were void of any talent.  We just didn't have a competent QB.  Now that Luck has played solid ball for the most part, and we hit on the draft very well, it shows the "experts" they didn't know what they were talking about.

Where would they have put them anyway? The worst team last year and it was before even preseason. That's not the media snubbing the Colts, it was just based off standings.

Not all of those teams are in their standing order from the 2011 season. Also, the media kept using the term "rebuild". Pagano HATED the word. This team proved a lot of people (fans included) wrong this season. The thread features  an article from the beginning of the preseason; a "look how far we've come" sort of thing.

It seems like everyone took it as a diss. I mean you were by far the worst team in 2011. The ranking was before even preseason. It was just natural to have the Colts last.

Next year will be interesting

It doesn't matter..in the Colts' minds they were sold short...whatever helps to motivate...you use it.  Now its time to make everyone pay for the next decade plus.  If Luck can take this rag tag squad to the playoffs "in a rebuilding year"...what happens when all our rookies get even more experience, he has a legit offensive line around him and Pagano puts his stamp on the defense?  Good times are ahead for the Shoe.  :blueshoe:

Worst team? Yes, probably. By far? Hardly. There were 5 games that year that were won by less than a TD, and if you look at games lost by 8 points (yes, a weird number) there were 8.

I suppose I am just nitpicking, but these team was semi-competitive last year. They just couldn't close out games. The QB position was all the difference.
