I have had a look at a few individual videos for the players ( entering the draft)  in the positions that we need the most ( which include OL,NT, OLB and SS).

 

OL (Most important)- when it came to the Oline, I looked at the interior linemen rather than the tackles etc. specifically: Chance Warmack and Johnathan Cooper. To me in pass blocking, they both seemed to be able to create time, but Cooper seemed to be the better of the two because to me, he seemed more dominant and physical against the man he was blocking. With running however, Warmack to me was able to open a reasonable amount of gaps for Lacy and the other Bama RBs. Overall would rather go with Warmack because it seems that he has the larger upside and in a sense, more the safer option.

 

NT (2nd)-  with NT's the people I looked at were mainly Jesse Williams, Kwann Short and Sylvester Williams. They all seemed to be good fits for our system but Shorts and Sylvester seemed to show a lot of power and pressure to the QB than Jesse but jesse to me seems better at clogging the gaps and stopping the run. If we had to picked, it should be Sylvester because it seems he will be able to do the most out of the 3 and it looks like Jesse might be taken quite early in the draft. Also Joe Vellano looks like low risk high reward sort of player if we can get him as a FA or a really late pick.

 

OLB (least important)- I don't feel this is really a huge position of need but it looks like we need to get them sooner rather than later. I only focused on Chase Thomas and Sean Porter. Thomas at times seemed to be a bit complacent in terms going after the ball carrier but he can certainly cause pressure and he looked very good at shedding blocks.  Porter was able to shed blocks like Thomas but he looked a bit inconsistent when tackling ( sometimes missed but sometimes hard and for a loss.) Of the 2, I'd go with Thomas, because he looks like he will be able to get the RB or QB more effective than Porter.

 

SS(3rd) - I looked at a lot of SS's as in a way, they had the most depth in the draft. When it came to tackling, Elam impressed me a lot, when he hit the ball carrier, a lot of force went into those hits but I don't see us getting him with him going so high.TJ McDonald looked good stopping the run and in some mocks he's still in the 2nd round, perhaps if he drops lower? also Robert Lester seems like an all round SS ( good at coverage, able to shed blocks and a solid tackler) to me Lester seems the most practical but definitely would like to get either of the other 2 if we have a chance

Fair game buddy, but maybe in FA or get a late round CB ( desmond trufant,leon mcfadden, tyrannmathieu perhaps?)

Vontea Leach is the only Corner we have thats respectable and its not a smart strategy to not draft at a position or not one up in FA(Tracey Porter if by wild chance he becomes available) just because we have guys "that might develop right the guys that might develop have looked awful more often then not

We do need a CB or two. Butler has been ok but Cassius Vaughn is flat out brutal. I'm hoping for a CB in FA or draft.

Yeah we definitely need a compliment to Davis, I'd prefer we get OLinemen through Free Agency because seasoned Olinemen have more value than rookies and if we get a 27 year old OLineman with about 5 years in the league he'll still last for another 5 years

There's a lot that goes into it, but I really only feel we need new starters at two spots; RT and RG. Both spots I'd prefer to be fixed in Free Agency rather than the crapshoot that is the draft.

That is fine and dandy but you said that CB's were the biggest offseason need and I would say that is categorically wrong.  Keeping the franchise QB out of harms way is far and away the most important thing to come out of the 2013 offseason.  Easily.  Not even close.  How that is accomplished, be it through the draft, free agency or both is irrelevant as long as it is done.

You can make arguments for the O line and the Secondary.
I'd draft talent in the secondary early, because at that position a guy can be a game one starter.
The Colts really need a Center and a Right Tackle, not to say that every job shouldn't be open aside from Costanzo's spot.

It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

Putting pressure on the other team's QB is always top priority.  The Giants didn't need JPP but they grabbed him and it's a good thing they did.  Fix the Oline in free agency if we have to, but you don't ever pass up the next Freeney, Ware, etc....

Sure, but I don't see it being better in the short term than bringing in quality veteran's. The key here is who's on the FA market and where Grigson ends up picking.
I think the secondary is an area where rookies with raw athletic ability would be less of a liability than a first rounder OL pick.
I really don't have a clue how this will shake out and I'm not going to pretend to know best.

I don't have a clue how it will shake out either but I can definitively tell you that the league is full of offensive linemen who started day one as a rookie.  If they are better than the alternative, they play.

No...we had no TE's...................................

So a team full of holes elects to spend their 3rd rounder on a TE even though they already had spent their 2nd round pick on a TE as well and that somehow does not represent a BPA philosophy.  In other words, they bypassed other positions of need and players rated ahead of Allen so because they had no TE's?  OK - that makes sense.

Nope there was better players available in the second-Janoris Jenkins for one who was by most considered a 1st round pick and considered by some the best Corner on the board, They went with Coby and his familiarity with Luck instead, we got the two best Tight Ends available out of it though

Jenkins was a completely different situation.  Completely different.  There were teams who took him off their board altogether because of his off the field issues.  And those that didn't certainly dropped him down their board.

Yes but he did not drop to far, talented Corners with skills like his are hard to find. Im just pointing out that there were higher rated players available (Better was probably a bad term to use when you consider that they play to completely different positions thereby making the two really uncomparable from a whos better then who talent perspective).

to say that there were higher rated players available, you need access to the Colts board.  Maybe on Kiper's board there were but that means nothing to NFL GM's.

Brown is very explosive with an O Line that can block
