Broncos may well need 14-game winning streak to win Super Bowl

Results of teams with 9 game streaks in a season

Beware the unbeaten run of success.

The Broncos are the 16th team in the past decade to string together nine consecutive wins. Of the previous 15 teams with such a streak, seven didn't win a playoff game, including Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts of 2005 and 2008.

Only three of those 15 regular-season juggernauts went on to win the Super Bowl. The Broncos can be heartened knowing Manning's 2006 Indianapolis Colts were among them.

The key with Peyton's 2006 team is that they had mid-season lapses and then recovered in the end.

Atlanta Falcons fit the bill of having mid-season lapses but can recover if they have HFA throughout the playoffs.

We will see if Peyton first becomes the latest Kurt Warner to get the Broncos (a 2nd team) to the SB, and then takes it one step further by winning it.

The future is almost NEVER defined by the past...sports folks make that mistake a lot..

has an MVP ever left his team and been MVP on another team?

has a 2-14 team ever made the playofs the next season?

I think long winning streaks are a positive...

OK: Today is a new day. I went to a blood draw yesterday on a fasting blood draw. I did what I was told as usual and they could not draw blood. I drank 3 cups of water, sat 30 minutes...still no blood? I found out a couple of weeks ago I was heartless...now bloodless? I guess we have proven what we have known all along!! :)
