It's been a great ride......but

I honestly don't expect us to go far in the playoffs. I think we have a chance going to Baltimore in the first round, but other than that, I see us getting spanked hard if we go to Denver or NE. That being said, I am ecstatic about what this team has shown me so far, considering that most people thought we would do very little this year.

Next year however, will be a different story. I expect Grigs to bring in quality free agents and draft picks, and make a serious run at this thing. With Luck and his rookie blunders behind him, I think the sky is the limit. But for now we may have to settle for one and done. 2 and done at most.

But whatever the outcome, I'm proud of my boys for what they've achieved in a "rebuilding" year. It's A LOT more than anyone in their right mind could have ever hoped for. Rock on COLTS!

I agree, I don't think we will go far.

Next year will be good for the organization. I see Indy as one of the better FA hotspots. We are young team with Luck and we just got through with a decade of dominance and that we could do it again.

I am proud of this team as well and we have been the most exciting team in football, when everyone else thought we were in a "re-build mode."

I'll be very happy if we don't go 1 and done in the playoffs. That would be nice but you never know, Mark Sanchez went to the AFC championship twice. I know they did it with great D but is it not possible to do the same with miraculous offense and opponents mistakes?

Your assuming we get to the playoffs, nothing is set in stone. If we lose the next two games theres a good chance we won't even get in. But even if we don't get to the playoffs this has to be considered a remarkable season for us, with only great things ahead for the next decade!

The thing with our team is that I see us having an opportunity in every game.  I could see us keeping up with Denver and Houston and possibly pulling out a win in the final few minutes.  I don't think we will blow those teams out of the water, but with the way this team is playing, I think we have an opportunity to win each game we play

I'd be shocked if we played anyone other than Houston in the second round.

think about it, If we had just a decent o-line we would be an even better team, i have faith in Grigson to have that fixed as soon as the draft ends. i will be excited to see Coach Pagano and BA mesh together through the years.

Heres to Hoping the World Keeps Spinning,

Either way It has been a Great Ride.

If we lock up a playoff berth, I will just be elate to know that the 2012 Colts have earned another banner for the Luke. In Grigson I trust as far as FA acquisitions and draft picks. We will be in the hunt for sure next season if this year is any indication.

I am proud of this team thus far! They have already exceeded my expectations! Waking up this morning and seeing that we are 9-5 and one game away from the playoffs, I say just beat the team in front of you, which is the Chiefs. Once you get in, you're in! Let's not put the horse before the cart.

Now once we are in, it becomes a whole new ballgame. On any given day, any team can beat any team. Are the Broncos, or Patriots a better team? Yes! But they may not be on that particular day we play them! In the playoffs, we can pull it off and go to the superbowl, you never know, but first thing's first, you have to be IN IT to WIN IT! Beat Kansas City!

Just making the playoffs this year far exceeds anything the Colts could have hoped for heading in, as well as us fans.

Next year begins the "polishing" of the team and individual players.

As for the playoffs, who knows. Lots of better teams lose to lesser teams. And we are going to have Pagano back, if we can get anything that resembles that second half vs. Green Bay I would not want to play us....we might be able to give someone a tough game.

If the NFL was "the Hunger Games" we would be District 12 in the postseason. People would pat us on the head but secretly smirk at the idea of playing us. But, what we lack in skill and experience we might be able to make up for at times in guts....MAYBE.

We are going to be thrown into the arena with nothing but our bows and arrows while other teams have better skills and experience.

Enjoy it now. Next year the expectations get much higher and Luck will polish up his survival skills....

well no kidding. Tell me something I don't know about my colts. There's a few areas that need shoring up, but this year has been special regardless of outcome. People can complain about Lucks INT's and his bonehead decisions, but I'm OK with it. The whole team seems united and generally like great people. This may be the most proud of any colts team I've ever seen.

To get this far this quick is mind boggling. We have 35+ new people, with new coaches, philosophies, rookies a plenty.

It's OK if we screw up once in a while. This team will be special for a long time I'm sure the rest of the division sees it. Colts/Texans will be a matchup for years. Can't wait.

You get a banner for being the wildcard team?

I thought you had to win the division. If they expand the number of teams that make the playoffs in the future those banners won't mean very much.

Amen!

This has been a banner year for me. The Colts have come much farther than most experts predicted...look back at what we had to work with and how far we have come and, if we don't lay an egg, we are playoff bound. Remarkable accomplishment for a so so rebuilding team. Go Colts!

Any playoff wins are just icing on the cake.  Andrew Luck has certainly cooled off recently, but hey, he had 2 TDs and no INTs against Houston, so that's an improvement.  I feel like he's so advanced, that he already had his sophomore slump and he's hitting that 3rd year great leap forward as we enter the playoffs.  Seems like we could definitely beat the winner of the AFC North (whoever that may be) and maybe beat another team.  But we all know it would be a heck of a long-shot for us to win four playoff games and win the SB...

Just think of what this team has done this year with as many rookies as we have. They are playing far better than we could've ever hoped for.

Just think of what we will be capable of when we give Luck an O-line that can give him a pocket to throw from. If Ballard is hitting 100 yards behind this O-Line, wait til he gets one that can block. Yikes!

Just throwing this out there.

@mchappell51: #Colts on doorstep of playoffs despite injuries. I've got 20 players missing a total of 104 games. 13 players on IR.

That's only half as bad as 2010 was. Still impressive, though, and we have a chance to win one more game than we did that year. With a rookie quarterback, head coach and GM, and an interim head coach for three months of the season. Just shows how lacking the roster and coaching staff were in 2010, and how much Manning made up for.

Jules is right. We have one more game to win before we get caught up in talking about the "potential" match ups in the playoffs. The playoffs are still just potential. Remember last year the Titans came in to Indy thinking playoffs when we were like 0-13 and we sent them home losers. The same could happen to us.

Do your homework before you start spewing nonsense. There's like a 2% chance of NOT making the playoffs.

Hey Brainiac, re-read Jules post. She wasn't talking about maybe making the playoffs. We're as good as in right now. Don't people do any research any more? There's a 98% we're in even if we lose the next 2. Oh wait, research takes too much time.......

This season has been amazing.  I can't believe we're 9-5 with a real shot at being 11-5... It's just insane.   All we have to do is win a game.  Win ONE MORE game and we're in the playoffs.  I don't even see how that's possible with all the stuff the Colts gone through since the end of the 2010 season.

I also feel like we have a good shot at WINNING a playoff game.   If we come up against the Ravens in the first round (which I think we will) I think we can take them.   They don't generate much of a pass rush, and without Ladarius Webb the secondary is beatable. If all goes how I think it will, that will send us back to Houston for round 3...  We can do it!!!!

In response, first my name is not Brainiac. Do your research and you will find that there are way more than 2% of the teams in contention for the playoffs over the years that have gone on three game losing streaks and ended up getting shut out of the playoffs.

Sure they have weaknesses but the way I see it...the Colts this year have far surpassed my 5-11 expectations for them.  So if they make the playoffs I will be ecstatic and after that anything else they do is just gravy...

I do think they could take Baltimore if that is the 1st round match up.  They'd also have a decent shot at upsetting Houston just from it being a familiar divisional opponent.  It would be an uphill battle against either New England or Denver as I don't think our current defense can contain Brady or Peyton but there is always a puncher's chance at least...any given Sunday.  Looking forward to the rest of this year and to the future of Colts football.
