So NOW is Sanchez done?

The Jets playoff hopes end on a botched snap. They had a chance to win it, but like all things, Sanchez blew it. He had 4 INT's. In half of Sanchez's 14 starts, he's failed to complete half of his passes. For a QB the Jets thought had the "it" factor and considering they traded up for him, Sanchez is a mistake from top to bottom.

I'd rather the Jets cut him, but I doubt that happens with the contract situation, so at the very least they must look for a new QB either via draft, free agency, or trade and let Sanchez ride the bench. The Jets have the pieces to be a playoff team, so I'd avoid starting a rookie QB, but sign one anyways to let him ride the bench and learn the ropes.

As for Tebow, I think he actually plays better than Sanchez (no joke), but the Jets are lazy in finding ways to use him, so I'd cut him. No point in having the drama.

I think Sanchez is done...I've already thought it that way few games earlier, but Jets was sticked with him, for some unknown reason...Yeah, he must be paid tons of dollars as guaranteed money, but his presence as starter causes more loss than guaranteed money.

Jets will be begging for Drew Stanton!

is it the Jets or Ryan?  Apparently Woody Johnson has wanted everybody else but Sanchez?

In all likelihood he's gone.  He hasn't done anything except for 1 playoff appearance if I'm not mistaken?

Nothing more.

And this season is disastrous. Jets are rather looking like a plane wreck, so almost NTSB shall investigate their case.

I don't get one thing: some players were ripping Sanchez last season, blaming him for being lazy...how on the earth they didn't find a decent replacement.

I just can't  take that they didn't know how bad Teebow really is...They've wasted a lot of many on 2 bust QB.

Well, 2 playoff appearances. He took them to the AFC Championship game in back to back years.

If there's anything positive about Rex that I can say, it's that I give him props for beating the Pats in the 2010 playoffs when the Pats looked unstoppable. And since I didn't need to worry about Brady or Belichick hoisting another Lombardi that postseason (especially when it looked like they were going to coast into the Super Bowl) and having every single media outlet call them GOATs I got some great sleep for the rest of that January.

And yes, the quality of my sleep in January depends on whether the Patriots are eliminated or not, lol.

Watching Sanchez playing, the most frustrating thing was with 1:50 left, 2 timeouts, needing 25 yds for a game winning TD, running game start to click, season on the line, they called a passing play only to let Sanchez toss deep and get intercepted. Even if they manage to have a TD, Titans could tie the game with a field goal in over a min and they had all 3 timeouts.

Coaching Sanchez for a whole season and watching him turning the ball over 4 times in this game, the offensive coordinator should know what they can do with him. Of course Sanchez is a well below avg. QB, but it is not the first time you find this out.

This game only shows how bad the coaching is one their offensive side, although their defense is still one of the best in this league.

They are probably the best HC-QB combination in the league since the last decade, to be objective. The closest could be Sean Payton and Drew Brees. Manning is the greatest QB but he is his own coach.

This Jets/Titans game was probably the only game in all my years of watching MNF that I did not tune in. Judging from the highlights Sanchez is getting worse, he is now out of control. 8.5 million is his price for next and the Jets are stuck in the mud surrounded by alligators. The coach I think now cannot wait for this season to end and he must know next year will be more of the same. Tebow also is a victim of being a personality rather than a QB. The Jets this year are perhaps the most pathetic example of collapse and destruction in recent memory next ot the Colts utter annihilation last year.

Sanchez is a huge problem but his coaches just never knew what they were doing on offense. Of course they did not know how to develope young QBs.

Unless they actually feel that Greg McElroy has the potential future as being QB1 for the Jets, they might as well leave Sanchez in, because they will look even more foolish if Tebow or McElroy come in and have solid games.

The real problem that the Jets face is what to do with him next year. He has a 9.1 cap hit due to unamortized bonus money and a guaranteed 8.25 base salary that has no offset language.

So he will be a 9.1 hit for them even if they trade him, or 17+ if they cut him.

That was an expensive flirtation with Peyton Manning.

is it bad that a part of me wants this to happen?  I just hope it makes them look even more foolish.

No it is understandable. It was clear Rex Ryan wanted no part of Tebow, but like the rest  of us from the media, had him shoved down his throat.

I'm still amazed that they gave him the extension this past spring.

I bet they are having second thoughts about not pursuing Manning a little harder.

That team (I use the word team loosely)....and ownership have to have had 2nd thoughts about a whole LOT of things.....

Manning would have been crazy to join that circus!  Barnum and Bailey 'got nuthin' on the Jets.........and Woody Johnson....what a mess.

Woody Johnson is a nut, but Manning running the O with Ryan controlling the D would have been an interesting combination.

I don't think Rex wanted anything to do with the Tebow circus. If he did then I believe he would be starting this week instead of McElroy.

Still wish he had gone to the 49'ers. Can you imagine the complete pounding they would have laid on NE with that defense? You know he wouldn't leave 30 points on the board and fumble the handoff four times.

The sad thing is, they were spoonfed that entire game with nonsense calls and flags from a horrible officiating crew that wanted to help them. Sanchez threw pick number 4, I shut the TV off. I didn't know he just dropped a snap like that and let it roll around.

Now you can a sigh relief, one New York team down, now come on and knock the other one out please.

Sanchez is done in NY. If they can't trade him, they're almost forced to release him and take the cap hit. Some team would part with a late-round draft pick for him, but I doubt anyone will take him on with his current contract. He's going to be a back-up wherever he goes, and you don't pay back-ups like that.

Sanchez is a classic case of "damaged goods." I don't think he's truly as bad as he's been playing this season and last. He's got fatal flaws as a QB, but can be a serviceable back-up somewhere. A change of scenery is almost imperative at this point if he has any hope of salvaging a career.
