QuizBoy is not a troll. He is a good poster who makes good knowledgeable posts, and usually is very gracious. He is sticking up for his team, who was getting slammed by some of our posters, which

is ridiculous, after they just beat us. <br />

Another thing, He admits when he is wrong, which is more than I can say for a lot of posters on here.

Thank you, buddy.

Texans didn't strongly make their case of winning the division much less a #1 seed in the playoffs. We handed...no fumbled our chance away.

Whoever comes out of the NFC is probably going to win the super bowl.

Nevertheless week 17 is going to shape out to be a monumental game with Texans coming to LOS and Pagano coming back to the sideline.

Even Vance and Qwiz can realize the stadium will be loud and the Colts will feed off the energy.

I was pleasantly surprised with how the team played on the road against the now 12-2 Texans. It still wasn't as bad as the beating NE laid on both us and the Texans.

Yeah I agree also. I really wasnt that upset about the loss at all because even though we made all those mistakes it wasn't a blowout or a horrific game. It was winnable but the Colts shot themselves in the foot. Colts now just need to focus on KC winning and securing a playoff spot. They will have a chance for payback two weeks from now.

Just a little mad, that's all. My apologies QwizBoy. Congratulations on the win.

No problem bro. I know lot of people were probably heated earlier, football is an emotional game. My bad if my initial comments came across as condescending or spiteful in any way, was definitely not intended.

No worries man; to be honest I was still PO'ed over Moore's fumble today haha... Looking back on the posts from eariler, I'd say we were ALL a bit lippy :P Hopefully we are cool!

Agreed. The Colts played much better than a lot of people would have expected and kept the game close till the end. The Giants were humbled by the Falcons today and not many believe that the Falcons themselves can be a threat in the postseason, the 49ers managed to get a win today but they too might be tested due to their second year QB. I honestly don't know who could possibly win the SB this year, but it's more exciting that way hahaha.

See you week 17...... looking forward to it :D

I was at the game today.

The fans were booing the Texans because of their weak gameplan and conservative play calling.

Actually, Luck threw for more touchdowns today than Schaub. He's a freaking joke.

Colts are playing with no O-line and no head coach.

Texans are a good team but not Super Bowl bound like they all think.

They are a decent team that has been the beneficiary of a weak division and a weak schedule.

Exactly, I am just glad we didn't lay a goose egg like some other teams did. The Colts-Texans game was probably one of the most exciting games out of this weeks big match-ups.

I think with this game, JJ Watt cemented this season as Defensive Player Of The Year. The guy deserves double and triple teams every play. He was all over the field today and he is a 3-4 DE making all kinds of plays.

From watching the SF-NE game, it is looking more and more like whoever wins the NFC, will win the super bowl, personally if the Colts don't make it, I want the Texans and Falcons. Two very good teams going at it.

Yeah, but the fact is was close made me more upset, knowing we were just a score away from tying it late in the 3rd quarter. I honestly had us losing to the Texans by 21 points in a blowout fashion.

But it gives me hope that 2 weeks from now, we can beat them at home where we play better. And Pagano is slated to come back which will be huge for the team.

We should handle KC quite well, even on the road. And I will be looking forward to week 17 because it should be electric.

The reason why I agreed they were pretenders was because all season we've been told by the media and a couple of Texans fans here that essentially, the Texans were in the upper echelon in every facet of the game. After last week and after yesterday's game, it has become apparent to me that that was a fallacy. Are they still a very good team? Of course they are, I'm just pretty certain that they are not the dominant team many said they were. They are not even one of the top 2 teams in the AFC IMO, let alone the entire NFL.

I can do it very easily, they arn't as good as their record says they are. They won't get out of the Divisional round, I'll call it right now

Agreed....I def dont believe in the Atlanta Falcons....should anyone??? Records dont mean anything...The Colts had the best record last decade and only went to two super bowls...records mean very little

I think the Texans are due, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them go to the Super Bowl this year. Despite getting rolled by the Pats, I think they have the talent to hang with them. They're better overall than the Broncos, but a rematch there would be tough, especially if they have to go to Denver. And everyone else in the AFC is a softie, including us. Any given Sunday, and all that, but the Texans are for real.

The 49ers are for real, though, and if I had to bet my check on someone right now, it would be them.

I would not be stunned either if the Texans got to the SB. That if if they avoid the first round one and done. Sometimes that first game can be the toughest coming off the bye.....we know how it is. Of course a lot depends on the Texans locking up homefield, which I feel they feel they have to do on Sunday vs. the Vikings.

And it might help them if the Broncos/Pats beat the crap out of each other in the divisional round in an emotionally charged game if that game should occur. I can assure you right now that no matter what Broncos/Pats fans say, the prospect of facing each other in the divisional round is not exciting to either.

But, if Houston does get to the SB I would probably pick the NFC winner to beat the snot out of them right now.

Hey guys, Texans fan here. Just wanted to join this discussion for obvious reasons.

Are the Texans pretenders? Definitely not. Are we as good as we were when the season started? Definitely not.

A pretender would be a team like the Broncos who haven't beaten anybody & built their record against bad teams. I repsect Peyton Manning, & I respect their defense. I do not think we are guaranteed to beat them if we see them again, but the fact remains, they haven't beaten anybody. They haven't beaten anyone with a winning record.

We beat them. We beat the Ravens (they were better then as well). We beat the Bears (we're the ones who hurt Cutler) & they were a better team then as well. We beat you. We have eight games on our schedule against teams that are in the play-offs now. We lost two, we have two yet to be played, we won four.

I might agree with you.... I was a bit angry the other day and I hate losing the division even though I really did not expect in my heart for the Colts to win the game. But, we gave it a good fight.

As for Houston, we'll see what happens. They do have a shot to win it all. Absolutely they have a shot. So good luck to you guys as long as it isn't vs. the Colts.

Injuries are not an excuse. It's part of the game & we all have to deal with them. That is why we haven't looked as good lately, we're fortunate enough to have won some games along the way.

We started to get healthy three weeks go, against Tennessee. New England still spanked us. Then we played you. Hopefully we'll get our last piece back this week (Brooks Reed) & Jonathan Joseph continues to heal (he's still playing, limited snaps, but playing). We've got two games left to shake off some rust & get back to where we were. We'll get a week off, then on to where ever destiny takes us.

You didn't beat us, because you're not a very good team right now. There should be no shame in that, it is what it is. You practically rebuilt your roster, have rookies playing in a lot of key positions, you have a completely new coaching staff & your head coach had his health to deal with. You're doing much better than anyone thought you would be, personally I'd be happy with that.

But you make too many mistakes. We capitalized on them, but they were mostly your own fault. You make these mistakes, regardless who you're playing, regardless who the referees are, regardless of where you're playing. I guarantee you'll make the same mistakes week 17 & you'll be saying the same things.... if we didn't fumble, if we didn't let them block that punt, if we didn't throw that interception, if so & so would have blocked Jj Watt...

But I'm not telling you anything new. You've been rooting for a good team for a long time. You know a good team when you see one.

1.we got embarrassed by the Patriots

2.we have absolutely no O Line

3.we only have 1 NFL caliber Corner on our roster

4.we are playing with a bad offensive coordinator

We are pretenders folks, many of us have been talking about how great and improbable a season thiS would be given all our new pieces along with the lack of talent on the team and off the field issues......what are we this year? PRETENDERS! we have serious holes, before we can be considered legit we have to fix these holes

No one expects us to win the Superbowl, the Texans have been the favorites to win the AFC South for three years and top AFC favorites for the last two. This is a big year for the Texans to show they can swim with the big dogs. The Colts have alot of money coming off the books next year and will be able to fill most of their holes on the roster. The Texans aren't getting any better than this.

I don't understand how anyone can call the Texans pretenders.  They have a 12-2 record.  They beat us plain and simple.

If these common phrases come up everytime your team loses then your team probably isn't that good:

1.  If it weren't for that fumble.....

2.  If it weren't for that o-line.....

3.  If it weren't for the refs......

You forgot "If it wasn't for the blocked punt".....

That's what I don't quite understand. What's wrong with how good they are?

Did the texans organization commit some sort of egregious error that cost them all of their future draft picks as well as get them banished from participating in free agency? I missed that story.

I would love for the Colts to be as "bad" as the Texans are.

I think you got confused and thought the title of this thread was "The Indianapolis Colts are pretenders", because there isn't a single thing you said that pertains at all to the subject of this thread.

Congrats to the Houston Texans for winning the AFC South!!! Oh wait, that was last weekend. I am late to the party. :excited:

Congrats to the Houston Texans for clinching homefield vs. the Vikings!!! Oh wait, they have not clinched homefield yet :woah: .

Meh. You guys blow us out of the water in the 'pretender' category.

I remember last year the week after clinching we bombed a home game to the Panthers, and then lost @ LOS the following week, no one thought we'd sniff a win vs the Bengals. Crazy stuff happens when the playoffs start.

No one expected anything out of the Colts this season. Several pundits had the Colts winning only between 1 and 3 games. Texans are supposed to be Super Bowl contenders. And with a chance to wrap up the No. 1 seed at home yesterday, they crapped the bed.

Yeah, the good news is we still control our own destiny, from the post game quotes I could tell the guys were angry at themselves. I swear we cannot function as the team that's 'supposed' to win. It's as if we have to be up against the wall to do anything.

Last year in the playoffs no one thought we would beat the Ravens, I think we used that as motivation and we almost did it. We have veteran guys but the team is still young when it comes to the post season.

Before you take the throne...you got to at least be able to recognize the king.  The Texans own the division this year(and last year) because they are the best team in the division coupled with the fact that the previous emperor (Colts) were undergoing a period of transition. Texans are not pretenders...at least not as divisional champs.  It remains to be seen if they can take that next step.  Colts still have some work  to do but we are closing the gap alot sooner than anticipated.  Colts/Texans is about to get heated.
