BOTH were given up for dead....

Peyton was told he should retire.....Irsay was talking about building he 2015 team

Peyton had a 'rag arm' they said....the Colts were rebuilding, looking for a high draft choice......

Peyton was shipped out of town..and everyone said he should go to SF...

Folks said Indy would be luck to win 4 games and 6 was a modern day miracle and fans were ridiculed for thinking Indianapoilis could make the playoffs

The Colts were 150-1 to win the Super Bowl and Manning winning the MVP was a joke...

and now what?

Both stories are good. just wait for wildcard weekend when we travel to Denver ( knock on wood). Peyton was tested for a possible concussion today too.

I say Colts because of the Pagano factor. We were given up for dead BEFORE we lost him. The fact they have ralied for their coach is the heart warming story that the media loves. Deep down I think there were a good chunk of people who saw Peyton being able to come back from this. I'd say about 95% would have laughed at the idea of the Colts being a playoff team before the season started then you factor the Pagano factor in and it's unreal what this team has done. With that said you can't got wrong with either one.

Well said. I never gave up on Peyton. I knew he'd be back. But I never thought we'd have 7 wins. Anyone who did was just wishing for it and had no base in reality for thinking so.

This game was won on good defensive stands, a good special teams effort for Hilton.

The offense was dead for most of the game. Luck never really settled down but he made plays when we needed them.

Peyton is doing well and very good for him. I knew that he was going to have a good year this year. Peyton works harder than anybody else in the league.

I myself predicted a 6-10 season before the year started and I am very happy to be the current 5 seed in the AFC.

Grigson has made some great choices so far in guys like Freeman, Hilton, Ballard, and Allen. And has done well getting role players that are a part of the success like, Satele, McGlynn, Justice, Avery, Redding, and Zbikowski.

The team has made mistakes but we are both exciting and resilient. And the team is truly a family from cheerleaders to players shaving their head for Pagano.

Colts performance is indeed a surprise.

Ergo, Peyton is a GREAT story, but the Colts with Luck is a far BIGGER surprise!

gut reaction to the thread title was Peyton, but not living around the Indy area and being immersed in the team - then reading the comments in this thread...my vote may change....I'm on the fence right now. Both are really good stories. I think in the end, Pagano's ordeal weighs more heavily on my mind. I'm happy that both are doing well and above expectations.

I think it's the same story, and as I hoped, it looks like we might see the Peyton v. Colts game. It will settle this thing down and be good for our fan base.

Just wanna point out that this time last year we were 0-11 and now we are 7-4.

This season won't totally be appreciated until it's done. A LOT of people had us picking first again in the draft. It's sad that the Cowgirls still get more press than us when WE'RE the real story. Think about it.

It's a part of being a small market team. There are just as many benefits to it as well. The Pacers are awful and no one cares or knows. They get to fly under the radar without ever being scrutinized. The Lakers were scrutinized to the point that they had to fire their coach and than the media scrutinized the organization for firing Coach Brown. You can't succeed in that kind of environment.

he was fine & stayed in game., but went maybe 3-13 or so in 4th quarter after earlier going 80 %, However many were drops and field position like starting at the 2, then 2 straight easy catches dropped andf then missing 3rd under pressure , had 3 in a row 3 & outs with real bad starting position

so was he a bit dizzy or a bit off.,

in final drive he took 6.5 minutes off the clock mixing runs & then 3rd dwn conversions Via pass, one a 26 yarder to the 15 to DT , Prater made 1st days FG after missing 2 , up now by 8 and only 18 seconds and no timeouts for KC left thjanks to that drive

Moreno did well, but history has shown hew always has Vs KC

BIGGER STORY < HARD TO TELL BOTH TERRIFIC, I'll punt on this one but leaning to Peyton as many gave up totally on him

I think they are both great stories. Good for Peyton for getting back to being Peyton.
But who thought that Luck would be SO good,and the Colts would be where they are at now?!? Nobody.

I like Peyton, but don't think for a second that I wouldn't want us to sack/intercept him 10x if the Colts ever play the Broncos. GO COLTS!!

Peyton's playing terrific. But he's taking a playoff team, with possible DPoY on it, to the......playoffs....

The answer is both.

Peyton is the biggest individual story for a player. Written off by most, thrown away by the team he led for 13 years and cut. He goes to a new team, that many didn't understand and has them fighting for a potential bye and can lock up a division title next week. Not bad for a noodle arm. Good call Kravitz.

The Colts are the biggest team story. Worst team in the league, playing with nearly 1/3rd of the cap in dead space, new GM, new HC(Thankfully), new coaches for the most part, new players sprinkled in with some veterans and they are in the playoffs. That is a story own it its own, when you add in the Pagano storyline it amplifies it as it should. The players are playing with a purpose.

It's like the Oscars. Manning is in the running for Best Actor, and the Colts are running for Best Picture. One could argue the Broncos are also in the running for best picture as well.

Maybe we can start a thread "would we be playing this well if coach Pagano was not diagnosed with cancer?" Is Arians a better head coach than Pagano? Yes, the sample space is small for Pagano but the case for Arians is huge, IMO, as a head coach, if not as an OC, looking at it objectively.
