dont know if u cought my article on AP talks ON MVP, Comment 373

but in it it was pointed out

Dickerson, the single-season rushing king? He didn't win the MVP in 1984. Miami quarterback Dan Marino did.

Its a a good article, go to my comment or read the link

Read more:NFL MVP debate: Does Adrian Peterson trump Peyton Manning, Tom Brady? - The Denver Posthttp://www.denverpos...p#ixzz2FLHvR0hP

I think the award should go to AP if he breaks Dickerson's record and the Vikings make the playoffs . . . none of the QBs are leading the league in more than one catagory . . . its not like Marino on 1984, Brady '07/'10, Manning '04/'09, where the QB was head and shoulders above other QBs in stats/teams wins and/or all time records in a few catagories . . .

It would be sad to see a RB break a record, be on a playoff team (albeit a WC team but then again they gave the award to PM in 2008 who was on the WC colts), and lose to a QB who is only in the top 5 in a few catagories . . . at this point RB could never win the MVP as always one of the top QBs in the league will be in the top five in a few catagories . . . other than Brady 4 INTS, before Sunday's games . . . I do not see any of the QBs with any all worldly numbers . . .

EDIT NOTE: Hey I can post again ! ! !, for some reason over the last few days, my posts have been coming out blank . . not to say that i have blank thoughts mind you, but just that the website was not recording my text . . . but i am back in the saddle so for . . . some of you may have seen some of my blank quotes/post over the last few days . . .

Guys like Rodgers and Brady need the other two to falter in some way because I think they're a notch below AP and Peyton in the MVP race.

Brady a notch below Manning? I don't see how anyone breathing oxygen can say that Manning is ahead of Brady lol... Brady is having a better season, he nearly had a historic comeback when they were down 28 in the third quarter and tied the game against the best defense in football, he beat Manning in a head to head earlier in the year... and you can count his turnovers on 1 hand.

Manning has the all around better team, which means that he isn't as valuable to his team as others are. This was the excuse that Colts fans used years ago when they wanted Manning for MVP, saying that he was the team and without him they were nothing. Well, that is not the case anymore, because the Broncos were a divisional playoff team last year without Manning, and this year they're solid as well. They have a great oline, a strong running game, talented receivers, and a very stout defense with 2 premiere pass rushers, one of which could be considered for Defensive Player of the Year in Von Miller.

Manning is not the most valuable player to his franchise this year... He has done nothing eye popping as far as stats are concerned and hes winning on a team that has already shown that it can win, even with a horrible QB under center. That is the ultimate antonym of the term MVP.

many having issues with forum softwatre from what i read, me too

Hi been awhile, I have no problem if Ap gets it, however do think Vikings must be a playoff team, otherwise whats the use if it all &that would be a shame if breaks record and vikings dont make it, will then get opoy but know he wants MVP

Play packers & texans, know 1 is like 30th Vs run & one 24th & he just ran for 212 Vs Packers so great shot at record

Yes Brady is a notch below Manning, in the MVP race that is. With "the MVP race" being the emphasis of that line. Before the Niners game I'd say Brady was ahead, but that game dropped him below Manning and most voters eyes IMO. Statistically Brady is still having a slightly better season. But in the MVP race, Manning is ahead of him. Why? The story of how he got there is more compelling. I don't need to go into that as we all know the story.

Of course you can also talk about Brady and Rodgers dealing with injuries to their teams or Brady having one of the worse defenses in the NFL. It's all perception and Manning overcoming his hurdles even though some of them aren't even related to what's happening this season are more compelling than what Brady and Rodgers have gone through. That wouldn't be the case if some other QB really stood out statistically, but no one does. Brady kind of did, but he got knocked back down a bit because he threw a couple of INT's and although he mounted a great comeback, still came short. And as long as all 3 QB's finish strong, I see Manning finishing ahead of the other two. Although it may not matter if AP breaks Dickerson's record with the Vikings in the playoffs, then he'll probably get it.

Statistically Brady is having a slightly better season.

But in the MVP race, Manning is ahead of all other QB's. Why? I guess I'll have to reiterate my point once again. Manning is coming off injury and is playing on a new team with a new offense that everybody has to learn. Despite all of that, they could finish with a 2nd seed after coming off a 8-8 season in which they were one of the worse offenses in the NFL(they're top 5 in scoring and yards this season). Brady and Rodgers are putting together another great season themselves. Manning is doing the same, except he has that story going for himself. And it will be a bonus for him because voters will vote with that in mind.

It's all perception and Manning overcoming his hurdles even though some of them aren't even related to what's happening this season are more compelling than what Brady and Rodgers have gone through. I'm not saying you have to agree with this or like it, I'm just trying to say that it will be part of the discussion and decide where each player ends up in the voting. And as long as all 3 QB's finish strong, I see Manning finishing ahead of the other two. Although it may not matter if AP breaks Dickerson's record with the Vikings in the playoffs, then he'll probably get it.

not getting into debate about who deserves it,  think all do , but  in respect to stats

Peyton is higher in both

qbr  81.5 to  78.3 & ratings 103.5 & 100.10  but stats lie too

I really wish all 3 can win it & be recognized  , please dont come back at me with a smart remark, again dont want a debate here, stats as I say do lie , just pointed that out as u said Brady ahead in stats , not saying that is a reason though to vote 1 way or another, alot goes into being MVP besides just stats

have a good day my friend

ROFL at QBR and QB rating.

Name one great defense that Peyton has faced this year.

Think about that.

You can't count the Ravens, as they were missing FOUR of their top 5 defensive players, and Suggs played injured.

Broncos lost to three great teams:

Falcons.

Patriots.

Texans.

What other great teams have they BEATEN?

Oakland? Nope.

Chargers? Nope.

Saints? Certainly not this year.

Bengals? They're above average, but certainly not great.

KC? Please.

Tampa Bay? Nope.

Baltimore? Flacco had a 0.4 QBR in that game.

Read that again: 0.4.

Peyton as MVP is almost laughable when you look at which teams the Broncos beat.

Brady's losses were to:

#1 defense (49ers). He scored more points on that team than any other team, and by a far margin.

#2 defense (Seahawks). Lost in Seattle, thanks to the defense giving up big pass TDs.

#11 defense (Arizona) when Arizona was playing well at the beginning of the year.

#13 defense Baltimore, when Baltimore was only missing Suggs, and the "game winning kick" wasn't good per NFL rules.

Yeah, for some reason after midnight, this site seems to have problems loading pictures, videos, & highlighting text. My computer has virus software that clears memory space on a routine basis automatically so it's not a problem on my end.

Realistically, I think Brady is leading in the MVP race & Manning is the Comeback Player of the Year. Sorry Adrian Peterson if your team can't make the Playoffs, your name should be removed from contention. People are free to disagree with me. That's just how I feel.

2 weeks back he got 2oo +  Vs Packers alone I think

Whats funny is you coming on here spuing that garbage after Brady and Co. Was manhadled in Foxborough by the 9'ers and rookie Kaepernick.

Brady played like crap that game as well as the Pats Defense. Blah, blah weather.. it was slick.. whining I keep hearing. The 9'ers held onto the ball pretty well.. at least they didnt throw INT's and fumble it away.

I mean, the Patriots got beat by Arizona.. ouch huh.. same argument can be made for the Broncos.. at the first of the year they were feeling eachother out.. new coaches, players, new team for Peyton, ect..

So your argument can be used against you. Either way here's how it is.. minus the smack talk..

Patriots are good. Broncos are good. Both are well rounded teams. Both are playing at high levels. Some games are going to be tougher than others. Some games 'stats' arent gonna be outstanding. When it comes down to it, i see these two teams battling it out in the AFCCG. Lets the cards fall where they may. Both teams are legitimate SB contenders. I dont see either team having an edge in any respect against the other.

He has entirely transformed the identity of the Denver Broncos. And the reason why he has done nothing "eye popping" is because he always puts up these numbers, regardless, 4000+ yds and 30+ TDs with a 103 QB rating, with a bran new team, in a new bran new system, after missing all of last year is impressive to say the least. Brady is playing great, as expected, but he is playing in a system he has played in for years with players hes played with for years. Hes in a much more comfortable spot then Manning, for that reason alone I say give it to Peyton.

LOL why cant we count the Ravens? They where injured and Peyton and the Broncos dominated that game. Like they where supposed to. So Manning fans cant bring up a win, which was a convincing win, yet you come up with excuses for every Pats loss? They lost to Arizona! I dont get care if they where playing well back then, cause guess what? They are a lower tier team this year. Seahawks? Only team that has a right to complain about that is the Packers. Sorry. And 49ers let off the gas pedal which allowed Brady and comp. to mount a comeback. Brady and the Pats offense struggled most of that game AND they still lost. So if the "most points" stat helps you feel better bout that loss then by all means use it, cause it is true and Brady does deserve credit. But it doesnt change the fact that Pats lost, and the Pats offense was not all that impressive.

Broncos lost to 3 talented team early on and since have been rolling. At this point they can beat any team in the league. Thats a fact. And Peyton is the main reason for it.

Uh, no way. Absolutely not.

Weren't the Broncos 7-4 with Tebow last year? And what are your thoughts on Tebow? If you thoughts are close to the thoughts of the masses you would conclude that Tebow is not the best NFL QB and perhaps not even worthy of being an NFL QB . . . so if the Broncos can go 7-4 with that Tebow guy . . . how strong are the Broncos? For me they are a solid team . . .

I am  confused here....

According to you,   Peyton lost to  3 Great teams....  (early in the season)   yet it shouldn't  be an excuse that he wasn't "yet"  jelling with his  new team..?

yet....

Brady lost to 4  teams, that are not the "caliber" of the teams Peyton lost to,  and because he lost to "lessor" teams, that makes him better...???

smh

My view does not change. This is what I would vote for this season but it won't happen.

rodgers.jpg

For starters, all hype on the A Rodge media front has been eerily quiet this season. I do not think this Packers team could live without Rodgers all year. The o line has suffered injuries and been horrible at times. The run game shaky at times and they lost Benson. The WRs have suffered injuries. Clay Matthews missing several games. Charles Woodson missing most of the season. Those are the two leaders of the Packers defense folks.

Oh yeah, and the Packers kicker is laughably bad this year.

Yep, Aaron has become my MVP this year.

But, it is already between Brady/Manning with a long shot for AP with Manning having the edge all year.

As Andrew Luck would say, "Such is life."

If Manning wins MVP, I'm fine with it. I just want to switch up the MVP recipient to someone other than Manning & perhaps #18 will win the SB. Yoda always seems to win this award & then get knocked out of the Playoffs. I don't want to see that either. Break the award cycle & perhaps Manning gets a 2nd ring. There's an unorthodox method to my madness...

Tom Brady should not be so easily dismissed IMHO. He's had a remarkable year...

Right, must've gone missing against the Steelers and Raiders. His play against the Niners basically cemented the MVP. Both picks weren't even his fault.

Played like crap? He lead his team to four consecutive scoring drives in the second half. The first pick, Welker gave up halfway in the route complaining to the ref about PI. During the second pick, Hernandez didn't extend his arms for the pass because he was about to be drilled and it bounced off him. How are those Brady's fault?

Can you remind me how Manning fared in those marvelous comebacks against NE, Atl, and Hou? At least Brady was able to bring his team back.

haha.. lmao this is just hilarious. How did he fare?? Better than Brady did. I can just here Gesile.. 'my husband cant throw and catch the ball at the same time!!' haha

On another funny note.. Manning's stats and wins are far superior to Bradys when he was out for a year and came back. Yet Mannings on a whole new team.

ATL: Defense failed to get a stop to give the O the ball back.

HOU: Defense failed to get a stop to give the O the ball back.

NE: McGahee fumbled the ball on like NE's 20 yard line after Brady did a spinarooni for a -20 yard sack and fumble. Would have still needed an onside kick or defensive stop assuming Denver gets the TD there.

SF: Brady turns it over on downs at his own 20, setting up a game clinching field goal. The 49'ers go in to "prevent nothing" D again and give short stuff over middle over and over for an easy field goal for NE. NE doesn't get the onside kick, game over.

Not sure why I'm bothering, but...

Are you kidding me?

I'm pretty certain that the 49ers FUMBLED the ball twice, and recovered one.

I'm also pretty certain that McCourty intercepted a pass.

So that's demonstrably false on your part.

Please show me one great team that the Broncos have beaten this year. Just one.

I am  confused here....

According to you,   Peyton lost to  3 Great teams....  (early in the season)   yet it shouldn't  be an excuse that he wasn't "yet"  jelling with his  new team..?

yet....

Brady lost to 4  teams, that are not the "caliber" of the teams Peyton lost to,  and because he lost to "lessor" teams, that makes him better...???

smh

Didn't realize my point was that difficult.

Peyton hasn't beaten any great teams this season. Two of the Patriots' losses were to teams that have 9 wins.

OMG I thought the dang Brady v Manning threads be gone from this board this year!!!  That said who gives a POOP who wins MVP I can guarantee you all the nominees just want the SB MVP and trophy not the season MVP.

Besids the MVP award getting be a joke (feels like the heisman every year..) ... That said I can see any of the 3 winning it, with Brady and Manning being the top 2.

As for the Broncos v Pats stuff... Pats division record is 9-1 the Colts division record is 8-2(?) All 3 losses were to good teams. If the Broncos and Pats faced eachother in the playoffs it will be a shoot out as the BRONCOS D is a paper tiger. They would get shredded again... as will the Pats D. key will again be turnovers.

And his stats were worse than Brady before their respective injuries. See how that's completely irrelevant? Keep grasping at straws though, you'll eventually find something.
