Our two closest wild card spot competitors San Diego and Miami both lost today. Which puts the Colts securely in the 6th spot for now. While we haven't secured the spot one game makes a big difference when it comes to playoff spots.

Division record would only come into play if Tenn had Pitts record/positon, but like you said the conference record would give the Colts the tiebreaker over Pitt if the season ended today.

It was also good news that the Jets lost today. Going into today the Jets had 5 losses,2 more than us, but held tie-breaker over us 'caus they beat us head-to-head. So now we have a 2.1/2 game lead on them.
If the Bears can beat Texans we will only be 1 game out of division and 2 games left with them.
Hey it don't cost anything to dream so lets dream a little higher than a wild card.

Cincinnati now has the same record as Miami and San Diego. They are all 4-5. The next closest would be Tennessee, which is 4-6, and as of now we would hold a tie-breaker over.

That's right, Dera ..........and Cincinatti is a lot better than Miami....Looks like the Colts are going to have to beat Tennessee on Dec. 9 to make the playoffs

With the Bengals playing the Chiefs and Raiders next and at SD after that, does anyone here think they could go on a mini run here? The way they played the Giants and fought the Broncos real close, I think they are capable of challenging us down the stretch when we have 2 Texans games for the 6th wild card spot.

Steelers, Colts, Bengals - I anticipate to fight for the 5th & 6th wild card spots unless the Ravens choke and it is them fighting for a wild card :).

I said in another thread I am not sold on Cincy yet. They end the year with Steelers/Ravens who they always struggle with. Cincy until proven otherwise has not done very well in the division. Besides, the Giants are in their mid season skid form lately.

I think it will be Texans/Pats/Broncos/Ravens/Steelers/Colts and in what order I have no clue. Your best bet is Houston #1 unless they blow it. And whats funny if if you look at that list there would be only ONE newbie this year; THE COLTS, if we make it in of course.

There is usually a suprise team in each conference that makes it in every year right? Maybe even two.

One game at a time but we can't flub up too much. And I might be the optimist but until proven otherwise in the final game of the year I still think we can take Houston. UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE they have not won in Indy. Just like the Vikings never won in Indy either and still haven't. :)

But, a long ways off until we play Houston. I really dislike how they set up the schedule sometimes with two division rivals not playing until nearing the end of the year.

May the odds be ever in the Colts favor.

Thankfully, the Bengals are 2-5 in conference. Looking at the schedules, 9-7 should do it.

Cincy will probably be 6-5 in two weeks and sadly so might we. It's time to play lights out!

Bengals can beat the Chiefs, Raiders and even Chargers on the road, IMO. Then they play the Cowboys and the Eagles. I could see them going 4-1 in that stretch.

That would put them at 8-6. It might force us to root for the Texans to beat the Pats so that they have the No.1 seeding clinched and play their starters for about a half vs us in game 16 if we are 8-7 going into that game.

9-6 before the last game, we probably make it. 8-7, our fate may be in others' hands.

With the Steelers getting the other WC spot, it looks like the Colts' main competition now are the Bengals.

Should be a heck of a battle.

Steelers lose. Chargers lose. Miami lost Thursday night.

Bengals win but I doubt anyone thought they lose to KC unless a miracle happened.

Colts still in the WC picture. Check.

May the odds be ever in the Colts favor.

If we can get past Buffalo we might be in real good shape... if we lose.... a lot of doors we dont want opened end up being opened.

I think the Colts, Steelers, and Bengals are playing for two spots.
Thank You Peyton! I look forward to the day you come home and we get to do this good bye thing right!
