Offense
Quarterback -- B - He had a very good game in terms of not throwing incomplete passes but had a bad INT right before the half and needs to work on feeling the pressure that lead to his fumble. Also his INT that got taken away because of the hit was bad.
Offensive line / blocking -- B + They gave up some pressure but the sacks were mostly a product of no one being open and Luck holding the ball too long. They also blocked for the team to have a 139 yards rushing over 30 plays and got a push on the goal-line for a Luck TD on a 4th and goal play. Reggie gets an A for blocking Mayock did a great job show casing it tonight and I've long thought Reggie's blocking is a very under rated part of his game.
Backs / receivers / tight ends -- B + Nothing too flashy from any of them although Avery had a nice catch to the five. Reggie was well Reggie. Reggie and Avery each had a drop. While none of the running backs stood out by themselves they did well as a unit. Also Hilton had a nice couple runs on reverses.

Defense
Defensive front (pass rush and run defense) -- Pass Rush I give a solid B. They didn't have heat all night but they did get some heat at times with Hughes getting a sack and forcing Gabbert to throw early a couple of times. Rush D I give an A. The Jags only ran 12 times tonight and the Colts stuff almost all of them. Gabbert had their longest run of the night on a one designed scramble. Can we make it so MJD doesn't play against us anymore?
Pass defense -- B - They get points for coming up with three turnovers, the two INTs and the fumble recovery were all by Butler. Zibs also got in on a sack. However they still gave up over 300 yards passing. Still they did more good than they did hurt us and for the most part got the Jags off the field on third down.

Special teams -- B Adam hit his kicks and Pat had good punts. Not much from the return game though. They did a good job covering their kicks as well.

Coaching
Play calling -- A I thought they had a really well called game. They were aggressive when they needed to be on offense and were able to run and chew up clock when they needed too as well. On defense they did a great job knowing the Jags wouldn't be taking shots down the field and had their corners up and jamming all night. Great job on a very short week. I though the no huddle by the Jags caught them off guard at first but they adjusted to it quickly.
Game management -- A Again, they took advantage of the Jags mistakes, had good game plan of their own, and adjusted as the game went along. Arians let one challenge go by that he could have made to save some yards but won his other two challenges one got the Colts a big turnover and another took away a big Jags catch. I also think something needs to be said about the Jags having 10 penalties tonight for 110 yards. That had a hand in their down fall and the Colts did a pretty good job of being the more disciplined team in the game tonight. They are now 6-0 on Thursday Night Football since the League reintroduced it and are 3-0 In Jacksonville in those games. Good day by all with horse shoes on the side of their helmets.
Thank You Peyton! I look forward to the day you come home and we get to do this good bye thing right!

I never posted grades for last week. Short week and all, I just didn't. But I definitely will this week. Hopefully within the next day or so.

Give me your thoughts on this convincing win:

Offense
Quarterback -- QB I am gonna give Luck a C this game. To me it seemed like he was pressing. The two int's were bad and he should have gotten rid of the ball on the sack. He waited way too long. That clock has to be going off in his head.
Offensive line / blocking -- C the run game wasn't bad as we got 90yds out of the backs and Luck had a few runs himself. Gotta get better push in the short yardage situations. Especially Goalline
Backs / receivers / tight ends -- C 87 - 8/96 its a shame he didn't clip that 100yd mark. WR's gotta catch these balls, Drops are drive Killers! Avery and Luck are slowly getting their timing down. Beautiful catch for him.

Defense
Defensive front (pass rush and run defense) -- B Stout line tonight but we didn't have to face MJD so its a given we should be good on the line. Good to see Zibs doing positive things in the backfield
Pass defense -- A+ considering we were down to 3rd, 4th and 5th stringers. . . . Considerably impressed. Like Mayock said during the game, this could be Butlers last chance. He was a 1st rounder. Maybe he develops here under this D especially with Pagano (once he's back) 2int's and a FR is a great Stat line.

Special teams -- B+ Vinny didn't miss and McAfee likes pinnin them deep. Its nice to see

Coaching
Play calling -- B+ overall it was a good mix. The pass plays are developing better because of a better running game and throwin a couple of reverses/screens are never bad
Game management -- A I think this was a really good game in terms of a really positive movement for all phases. Good things happened on all sides of the ball tonight and this game was definitely a possible trap game. We avoided that and laid even more of a positive foundation that this team can build off of.

Offense
Quarterback B+ -- It would be an A had Luck not thrown that pick and not make a couple of other bad passes (that one to Hilton on the side line). He looked great in the pocket and has great awareness.
Skill Postiitions B+ -- Reggie had another great game, TY had some nice plays, Donnie had a couple of big plays, and Ballard ran the ball quite well. Allen blocked very well too.
O-line B -- The pass pro wasn't great at certain times, but all in all it was solid. Tyson Alualu made the interior lineman's lives difficult and had trouble stopping him. Besides that, run blocking was pretty good and the pass pro was good.

Defense
Defensive Front A- -- For starters, they shut down the run. 37 rushing y, or if you don't count that Gabbert run is oustanding. WIthout a running game, the Jags are hopeless. As for pressure, they got more pressure in the 2nd half, with Hughes and some other blitzers (Zbi, Freeman, and Bethea) getting to the QB.
Pass Defense B -- The Colts had some times where they couldn't stop the pass, but they did have 2 picks and literally shut down Gabbert. If it weren't for Laurent Robinson's hitch passes (which in a zone defense is impossible to cover), it would have been a really big shut down. Butler had a great game, Vaughn didn't, and Bethea looked good too.

Special Teams B -- Nothing special on special teams (no pun intended). Vinaiteri had a couple of good field goals, Pat punted well, and the coverages teams were very good. The coverages teams in the past have been shaky, but this year it's great. Return teams were meh, but they didn't return the ball often.

Coaching
Play Calling A- -- Offensive playcalling was very good. They knew when to run it and they knew when to pass it. They mixed it up beautifully. They also had a very balanced offense, which is what they should strive for. Nearly perfect on O. On D, I think they called too many zone coverages, and that's when the Jags were beating the Colts with a lot of hitches and short routes. However, they were aggressive with safety blitzes and that got to the QB. That was good, and as I said in my breakdown, they should bring a person over the top to prevent deep passes. They only allowed one deep pass and that was because of a bad play by Vaughn and a miss tackle by Zbi.
Game Management A -- When you get 11 more TOP minutes than your opponent, you're bound to win (expect for that Dolphins win a few years ago). They controlled the clock. Arians also had a good challenge, but the one he got wrong is the reason why he doesn't get an A+

Offense

Quarterback -- B/B+. Luck's pocket presence was exceptional and his accuracy is improving the more comfortable he gets. 2 bad INT's drops the grade (luckily one got called back) along with another couple of iffy decisions. He develops quickly- the difference between how he managed the game and how he played the first couple of weeks is already night and day.

Offensive line / blocking -- B. Overall, a solid performance except for the blown block by Linkenbach that resulted in the sack/fumble. Our run blocking was effective enough to grind the clock down in the 4th and pick up small chunks of yardage consistently. We converted our short yardage runs. It wasn't flashy, but it was a workmanlike effort. We'll need to keep improving there.

Backs / receivers / tight ends -- B. Solid play, but too many mistakes. Wayne, Hilton, and Avery had drops. This was primarily a blocking game for Dwayne, and Jax covered him well when he did run routes. He whiffed on a block on Hilton's 2nd end around, but blocked very well overall. Our backs did a good job of taking what was there and running between the tackles. Donald's knee still isn't 100% or else we'd have seen him get more runs called on the perimeter. Carter is excelling at his role as short yardage back.

Defense
Defensive front (pass rush and run defense) -- A. Jacksonville had no rushing attack, and we got consistent pressure on Gabbert. Our front 7 looks like it's starting to really gel and develop. I was impressed by their performance. Moala is quietly improving.

Pass defense -- B+. Cecil Shorts looks like Jacksonville's next great pain in our neck. Butler played very well, and I even liked Vaughn's tackle on the penalty call after he got burned- if you're beat, don't let him get the TD. While it wasn't a perfect game coverage-wise, I thought our banged up secondary played well.

Special teams -- A-. Typical solid outings by Vinatieri and McAfee. No big plays on special teams, but no costly errors, either.

Coaching
Play calling -- A. I liked our balance of run/pass today. Committing to the run now will pay dividends in the future. Getting TY Hilton in space is a move I like because he's a playmaker and our blocking on the perimeter is strong with Castonzo, Allen, and Wayne. We didn't get too cute when we needed short yardage. We took enough shots deep to keep Jacksonville's defense honest, and if not for drops, would've had more big plays. Defensively, our game plan was sound. We took the run away, dared Gabbert to beat us, and he couldn't.

Game management -- A. We moved the ball, controlled the clock, and never got phased by our own mistakes or by Jacksonville's efforts to respond. We didn't play down to our competition and were in control the whole way out. All in all, the coaches' performance was exceptional given the emotional win vs Miami and the short week of preparation. This could've been a letdown game, and instead, we handled business the way a good football team does. And, to really top off the coach's dream scenario, we still made enough mistakes to give them plenty to work on next week.

If im not mistaken i Think Zibs got credited a partial sack it was Huges who brought Gabbert Down, But i do most certainly agree with every single one of your grades couldn't have spelled it out any better.
