Andrew Luck joins SIRIUS Radio on Monday morning to talk Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and rushing attack
Luck answered questions on a variety of topics on The Opening Drive and below are his thoughts on Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and the Colts rushing attack.
“He’s phenomenal. He’s a phenomenal teammate. I feel very, very fortunate to be able to play with him. I’m sure 10 years down the road, I’ll look back and say, ‘Wow, how cool and special was it to play with a receiver the caliber of Reggie Wayne.’ Hopefully a Hall of Fame guy.”
“He’s worked his butt off. We’ve really gained some great rhythm as the year went on last year and it’s definitely carried over. The guy makes plays all over the field. With DHB here now, I think we’ve got some great ways to attack the edge with the wide receivers. They all make plays. They all work very, very hard. T.Y.’s work ethic is unbelievable as is DHB’s and obviously Reggie sort of sets the standard in that room with his professionalism. T.Y. is phenomenal football player. He’s incredibly fun to play with and he just makes plays every time he’s on the field.”
On the approach to the running game :
“A big focus of Pep’s (offense) is to make sure we are not running negative plays from the snap. We’ve embraced it as quarterbacks. If we can get to the line of scrimmage and get our angles better on a certain run or make sure we are not running out of free guys than we’ll do that because we want this team to be successful. The O-line has bought in. We know that we have running backs that can take it to the house on any given play so our run game is comprehensive. It’s not perfect by any means but we are still getting better on it.”
