Colts FA Day One

Colts FA Day One And the colts continue their growth and path to the top. GM Ryan Grigson and Coach Chuck Pagano have been methodically adding the pieces to this already playoff-ready team. I for one, am getting pretty excited about the moves. There is still plenty left to do before we can make the long run in the playoffs.

The colts signed DE Arthur Jones to a 5 year, $33 million contract. If you guys have not watched Jones play, he played with Coach Pagano in Baltimore. He is a big strong lineman who has the ability to collapse the pocket and create pressure, but he specifically has the label of a quality run-stopper. Also, at 27 years of age, he is in the prime of his career. He knows what it takes to win of course. He played a crucial role in the Ravens Super Bowl run. This signing is awesome. Lets not forget about D'Qwell Jackson. He is a legit 3-4 inside LB. He understands his role because of the similar scheme in Cleveland. At 30 he brings the intensity and experience that this defense needs. Vontae Davis returns and I have to say, he did come at a pretty high price. The defense is starting to shape up. The colts need to look for a safety now though because of the loss of Antoine Bethea.

The colts also resigned Vinateri (which i really am not a fan of), Pat Mcaffe, and Ahmad Bradshaw. i was actually very happy that we resigned Bradshaw. He is a great RB with speed, strength and skill. I believe that he and Trent Richardson will make a great duo. the colts still need to get a center (or give C Khaled Holmes a chance), and maybe a receiver.

This Colts team is getting stronger by the year. They are making all of the right moves. i predict within 5 years, we will be hoisting the Lombardi trophy.

Tell me what you think!
