Trent just doesn't seem to have the speed to hit the holes that our line can only hold for a fraction of a second apparently.  I know our line is not very good at run blocking and perhaps we need to rethini our offensive line coach if it is not the talent that is at fault. Herron just appears to be faster and quicker than Trent, just like Donald Brown was last year.  If we made a mistake on Richardson, we need to just bite the bullet and start Herron and use Richardson on short yardage situations where his size will be to his advantage instead of  making him just too slow.

I am sorry but I have been a die hard fan since the Johnny U days back in Baltimore. I have never heard a professional athlete use the excuse that he hasn't learned the playbook yet. Running is a lot of instinct too and all Trent has to do is go home and look at the films. He runs into a pile up and never hits the hole. He is paid millions and its time he stepped up stopped using excuses about the playbook. I would hope the Colt's would have tested his intelligence before trading for him also and if he was that slow to learn they would have passed. Let Boom Herron get a chance. At least he hits the holes quickly and Bradshaw is a hard runner too. Trent run like a real professional running  back or get out of the league because your playbook excuse is old.

Trent Richardson actually had an encouraging game, I thought. He made several very nice runs and it was good to see, his first carry out of the pistol formation went for five yards. He came right back with a hard 8-yard scamper out of the shotgun Trent is way better then Brown last year they stacked the box against Trent and the Giants had 8 players in the box 27 out of the 30 plays the 1st team offense ran. Also if you go back and watch game film from last year Trent was hit in the backfield 80% of the time and positive yardage out of nothing and Brown's plays 75% out of shotgun and most of Trent's was out jumbo formation or I- formation, but off of my initial viewing I was happy with Richardson last night.Lay off of Richardson. The line looks atrocious. People standing around, not sticking with blocks, and blown assignments. Somebody needs to light a fire under the offensive lines butts.

Trent will be fine as the starter and will surprise quite a lot of fans..... Learning an NFL play book takes time and he has learned three of them in the last year and a half. Now that he's had a preseason with the starters, everyone will see a different T-Rich on game day. No one will run harder than Trent Richardson after he has seen the unending support from the coaches and players. I have a feeling all of these Richardson doubters will be back on this forum saying they knew all along what a great back he was and how Grigson stole him from Cleveland. Richardson has a ton of upside so make sure you squirrel him away on your fantasy football roster. Tom in Maryland

You have be BLIND not recognize that "T Rich" will never be a NFL back of any consequence.  If you watched the same game I watched; there were backs that will be cut that made better runs than Richardson.

What game where you watching?one of the reasons everyone is in the backfield is because Richardson takes for ever to make a decision

Brown always sucked as did Addai. You all gave those two jokes way too much time in a Colts uniform. Give the kid a chance. It took Brown 4 years to show anything at all. Addai first year was his best, down hill from there.

Brown did not suck last year and he would be the best back they have on the roster right now

Brown could not block if he life depended on it. If he is so good why is he 3rd on San Diego's depth chart, and he didn't fit the scheme that Colts want to run

What where you watching? Our offensive couldn't block a fly if they had to. Trent got hit in the backfield before he could get the handoff.

That's about the only thing Richardson can do is Block maybe that's why he can'y get out of the backfield he think's he's blocking
